Merdada Lake is located in the tourist village of Karang Tengah, Batur sub-district, Banjarnegara Regency, and is a zone 2 of Banjarnegara dieng plateau. Merdada lake is a lake with an area of ​​more than 25 hectares where the lake is actually a place to hold rainwater, which in the dry season will also experience lake water subsidence.
With this area, Merdada Lake is the largest lake in the Dieng plateau area. Around this lake is used by the community to match garden potatoes and other vegetables. Besides being an agricultural area around the Merdada lake, there is also a former Mushroom Factory, PT. Dieng Jaya which once stood and became one of the jobs for many people in Dieng and its surroundings. Now the former Mushroom factory is used by some as a place to store fertilizer before being taken to the fields.

Merdada lake water is a source of water that is very important for the surrounding community because it is a source of springs used as potato plantation waters of the local community. Here also we can find quite a lot of grouse and become a natural habitat for this one ungags. The village community also protects grouse and some animals in Telaga as a movement to preserve natural ecosystems.
In the Merdada lake there is also a tourist dock, from which we can see the scenery of merdada lake and its natural life which is very soothing.

Telaga Merdada also has a Tourism Event called the Merdada Lake Festival, there are folk art performances, the title of the mountain, and the Telaga Merdada dance scene which reveals the formation of the Merdada lake according to the Wayang story, the battle between the Subali King and his brother Sugriwa. On the final night of the Festival, tourists were given the opportunity to release hopeful lanterns in the lake, and in the afternoon there were tree planting actions as well as the release of fish seeds as a form of nature conservation and the Merdada Lake Ecosystem, to be enjoyed by our children and grandchildren.
